The Town Hall Presents Lee Byeong Woo Solo

An award winning soundtrack composer the musician Lee Byeong Woo has achieved recognition in the western world for his many film scores including The Host and Mother the latter of which Lee will perform live at Town Hall accompanied by The Harlem Chamber Players on April 20 for the trailblazing director Bong Joon Ho. In his native Korea Lee is perhaps better known for his ongoing career as an innovative roots guitarist both as a part of the folk duo Someday and as a solo artist. Two dozen movie projects later Lees musical journey has returned him full circle to his humble beginnings as an itinerant busker as evidenced by his recent album of introspective instrumental jazz titled Odd Strumming of the Universe. Following recent European touring Lee Byeong Woo will make his much belated North American debut on The Town Hall stage for an evening of entrancing guitar music featuring songs from the Korean classical canon alongside his pop and soundtrack repertoire..
